A Zoo Adventure in Brooklyn
While the Bronx Zoo may be the “happening” place every tourist and native New Yorker goes to, you shouldn’t discount the zoos of the other boroughs. Brooklyn is home to the beautiful Prospect Park Zoo. It’s located conveniently in Prospect Park and can of course be reached by a New York charter bus. The zoo is 12 acres and has some wonderful, and very adorable, animals on exhibit. There are baboons and monkeys, frisky felines, owls, reptiles, birds, and playful sea lions.
A zoo is a wonderful trip idea for parents and children alike. You don’t need a family of little children to enjoy the beautiful wildlife this world has to offer. People of all ages can appreciate their beauty and wonder. The zoo is open all year long. Currently their winter hours are 10-4:30pm. If you’re waiting for the weather to warm up a bit before you plan your trip, their summer hours are until 5pm weekdays and until 5:30pm on weekends and holidays.
Prospect Park Zoo is also ideal for a fabulous school trip, especially if your school is located in Queens or Brooklyn. It will be a much shorter charter bus trip than heading up to the Bronx Zoo. And the kids will still have a great time at the zoo.
