Restaurant Week Is Here
Every year New Yorkers look forward to the deliciousness that is restaurant week. January is usually a pretty boring month now that the holidays are over, but we can all stuff our faces on amazing food for a fraction of the price. Imagine being able to go to some of the best restaurants in the city and not worry about the dreadful bill at the end of the night. Restaurant week began on January 16 and runs through February 10.
All restaurants offer a prix-fixe menu, either for lunch, dinner, or both. That means you’re limited to what you can choose, but it’s not like you’re getting the measly leftovers. No, you’re enjoying gourmet food. Most offer a dinner menu that includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Lunch menus are typically just appetizer and main dish. It’s only $24 for lunch and $35 for dinner at all the restaurants that are participating.
You can take a look at all the restaurants participating by visiting NYCGo.com. You will have to make reservations though because the restaurants will fill up fast. Hop a New York charter bus to get you there. I’m sure afterward, you’ll sleep like a baby on the charter bus ride back, stomach full and happy.

Getting Zen on a Charter Bus Trip
While Monsey Tours prides itself in offering a comfortable New York charter bus, we can’t always guarantee you’ll sit next to the nicest of people. A lot of people choosing to ride charter buses and every so often, you get the pleasure of sitting next to the person blasting his music and eating messy food that reeks of onions and garlic. That is the moment when a once pleasant trip turns into an uncomfortable 3 hour bus ride.
Instead of letting your anger seep through, practice the art of zen. You can meditate if you want, but I’m talking about a few zen apps on your smartphone. Although Fruit Ninja is supposed to install waves of calm and serenity, you might just get ticked off that you can’t beat your high score. Even the “zen mode” can get frustrating, but at least it will distract you from the nuisance next to you. Two apps that might do a slightly better job at relaxation are iZen Garden and Koi Pond. The first let’s you create your very own zen garden, complete with sand, rakes, and black stones. It’s simple and comforting. The latter is even simpler. Just drag your finger along the waters of a Koi pond. Watch the ripples, feed the fish, see them swim away. Sounds silly, but soon you’ll forget all about smelly loud guy.

The Perfect Time for Ice Skating
Now that winter has decided to arrive here in New York, it’s the best time for ice skating. Ice skating is wonderful activity for the entire family. It also makes a great option for a date! Hopefully at least one of you is good so you can hold hands and help the other one out. But where can you go ice skating? Take the charter bus to Manhattan and you have a few options. The most popular, but not necessarily the best, is at Rockefeller Center. It’s great when the tree is still up but there are long longs to get in and it’s pricey.
The true best option is the pond in Bryant Park. It’s very affordable, $13 for skate rentals. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the lines aren’t nearly as bad. There are also two options at Central Park. You have Wollman Rink and Lasker Rink. Both options aren’t expensive either. Lastly in the city there is Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers. Expect to pay about $20 for ice skate rentals and one session on the ice.
As long as you make it to one of the rinks, you can’t go wrong. Unless you fall, a lot! A charter bus will get you to the rink but we can’t guarantee that you won’t have a few minor spills on the ice.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in NYC
What better place to celebrate the new year than New York City? No place of course! Except maybe Disney so you can see the awesome fireworks. But Time Square is the mecca, the ultimate place to watch that famous ball drop at midnight. It’s very exciting, to say the least. But if you’re willing to take the charter bus to the city, you better be prepared to be in Time Square early so you can get a good spot. Check the weather beforehand and dress appropriately. Bring some grub with you and don’t drink to much because once you find your spot, you can’t leave until it’s over.
But if standing out in the cold isn’t your thing, there will be plenty of cool New Year’s Eve parties happening all over the city. Going to a party near Time Square will be very awesome since you might be able to watch the ball drop from inside, however, you need to make your way to that building before the sidewalks get blocked off. Whatever you choose to do, give yourself plenty of travel time. Dance the night away in style and ring in the new year with the capital city of the world, and take a New York charter bus to get there!

Even Canada? Yes, Canada!
Even though we spend a good deal of time talking about all the awesome places along the East Coast to visit via charter bus, know that you are not limited to the area. Heck, you’re not even limited to the United States! There are many great places to visit in this wonderful country, but Monsey Tours is proud to let you know they even go to Canada.
There are some beautiful sites to see when you visit our neighbors up north. If you’re looking for a new outdoor activity spot, you might want to travel across the border. There may be plenty of mountain ranges here, but you can’t compare to a country that’s practically an ice cube the majority of the year! Montreal is a gorgeous city, but don’t pass up Vancouver, Toronto, and Quebec City! If you visit in the warmer months, their is fishing, hiking, and camping. Canada’s French heritage is still immensely present, considering those in Quebec still speak French. But if you can’t afford France, this is the next best option.
Canada is an affordable trip that’s not too far away. Book a charter bus and give our neighbors a visit.

A Family Reunion
My father’s side of the family is quite large and it’s often hard to get everyone together, especially for the holidays. Often times some just spend time with the immediate family or they visit the in-laws. But that’s why we decided to have a late Christmas family reunion every year. We purposely plan it around the beginning of January because we know everyone will be available.
We gather the folks together and meet at a cabin in upstate New York for the entire weekend. It’s always a wonderful time. We exchange gifts, eat awesome meals, and just catch up on life. But how do we all get upstate since most of us live near the city? A charter bus of course. Many of us don’t live too far from each other so we all split the cost of a charter bus service. It’s so much easier and more comfortable than driving up ourselves. Plus, why waste the gas and go individually? That’s just not logical.
Monsey Tours can take care of your family reunion. Even though the idea of spending a few hours on a bus with your family isn’t always ideal, it’s convenient and cost effective, and that has to count for something, right?

Monsey Can Handle a Trip to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular
There’s only three more weeks until Christmas, but it’s not too late to get tickets to quite possibly the most popular holiday show, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I remember when I was in 8th grade, we took a class trip to go see the show. It was a wonderful experience and we even got to do some sightseeing around the area. It’s a fun holiday treat for the kids and Monsey Tours can certainly handle a school trip.
School trips in general will be a much smoother ride when you choose Monsey Tours for a New York charter bus. They can take you anywhere in the city naturally, but they don’t stop there. Take your class on a trip around the East Coast, whether it be to a championship basketball tournament or a field trip upstate. Even if warmer weather is a better time to be taking trips, kids will start to feel antsy during the winter months. Take them on a trip to a museum or to a musical. There is plenty to do in New York City and it will be a nice way to reward the children after a long first semester. Get them to a show before they break for the holidays and let them ride in style in a charter bus.

A Trip to the Rockefeller Christmas Tree
Christmas in New York just doesn’t begin until the tree at Rockefeller Center is lit up. And thanks to last night’s ceremony, we can really feel like we can kick off the season. The spruce tree came from a small town in Pennsylvania, but the tree itself is no small feat. It stands 74-feet tall and features 30,000 lights! That’s actually 5 miles of string lights! In attendance last night was, of course, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and performances by Neil Diamond, Cee Lo Green, and Carol King. Much to the disappointment of every teenage girl, the performance by Justin Bieber with Mariah Carey was actually pre-taped and he was not there.
Visiting the tree is practically a must for all New Yorkers and of course it’s the biggest tourist attraction during the holiday season. It’s actually best though if you can view it during a weeknight because weekends are literally a mad house and it’s nearly impossible to stop for a minute to even get a picture of the tree. A charter bus will easily get you to Manhattan for a viewing. And while you’re there, get a little shopping done and perhaps take in a show.
You actually have until January 7 to take a charter bus service before the lights are taken down and the tree is turned into lumber for Habitat for Humanity.

Union Square Holiday Market
So Thanksgiving is this Thursday and you know what that means…no not turkey. Okay, yes there will be lots and lots of turkey involved, but I meant that the holiday shopping season will begin Thursday at midnight. Of course there are plenty of [crazy] stores open on Thanksgiving offering some incredible deals and discounts, but start the shopping on Friday at least.
New York City will be a shopping mecca. You have your big name department stores, small boutiques, and of course the Union Square Holiday Market. New Yorkers are already used to enjoying local foods during the entire summer at Union Square, but after Thursday, you can pick up gifts for friends, family, and coworkers. Find handcrafted jewelry, fine art, clothing, handmade ornaments, toys, and much more. It’s the perfect spot to pick up one-of-a-kind gifts. Forget the Kindle or the latest kid’s toy. Instead you can pick up items that no one else will have, leaving a lasting impression on your recipients.
Monsey Tours’ charter buses will get you to the city and back safely this holiday season. Come in for some shopping, visit the Rockefeller tree, take in the department store decorations on 5th Avenue. Let a charter bus be your guide to all the best festivities.

Charter Bus Service for Thanksgiving
Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?! I don’t know where the month of November went, but I’m very excited to go home for the holidays, as I’m sure many of you are. Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday of mine, mainly because it’s centered around a lot of delicious food! Turkey may not be my favorite, but it really does hit the spot with my dad’s homemade gravy and a helping of stuffing.
If you don’t have the luxury of hopping on a car to go back home, consider a charter bus service. Although every route to your home will be jam packed, the airlines are by far the worst –even with exorbitantly high airfare prices. Skip the frustration of the airport all together and just take a charter bus. You don’t have to worry about arriving two hours before your scheduled departure and removing your shoes for security. Buses are safe, fast, and reliable. Not to mention they are much more comfortable than those little airplane seats! It’s also the perfect solution for those with a fear of flying.
Don’t miss a tasty meal with friends and family. Hurry up and book your charter bus for Thanksgiving weekend!
